Planning a first birthday party is a special milestone for both parents and their little ones. You just survived their first year!! Here are seven tips to ensure a successful celebration:

1. Keep it Simple: A one-year-old can easily get overwhelmed, so keep the party short and the guest list manageable. A couple of hours with close family and friends is usually perfect.
2. Child-Friendly Environment: Ensure the party area is safe and child-proofed. Set up a play area with age-appropriate toys and activities to keep the little guests entertained.
3. Themed Decorations: Choose a fun and simple theme that reflects your child’s interests or favorite characters. Decorations can enhance the festive atmosphere and provide great photo opportunities.
4. Timing is Key: Plan the party around your child's nap schedule. A well-rested baby is more likely to enjoy the party and be in a good mood.
5. Simple Food and Cake: Offer easy-to-eat finger foods for both children and adults. Make or order a small cake or cupcakes, and consider having a separate smash cake for your baby to enjoy.
6. Capture the Moments: Hire a photographer or designate someone to take pictures throughout the event. You'll cherish these memories for years to come.

7. Have Fun with Activities: Plan a few simple games or activities that are suitable for young children, such as soft blocks or a sensory play area.
For my sons first birthday we had a special Dinosaur themed birthday that was the cutest. I was fortunate my friend thought to take pictures for me. I would have barely any because you are so caught up making memories that I did not even think of breaking out my camera. My daughter had a ONE-der the sea party. Unfortunately she woke up not feeling well, but the other kiddos had a blast at her party!
